The National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center, Lainchaur said the earthquake measuring 4 on the Richter scale occurred at 2.09 pm today, with its epicentre near Shivalinga of Baitadi. Before this, an earthquake with its epicentre around Majhigaon of Bajhang occurred on September 18. Tremors have been occurring in Nepal of late. Tectonically, Nepal is considered earthquake-prone zone as it is situated in the Himalayan region.
