He was arrested from Swoyambhu, Kathmandu as he has been convicted in a case of corruption, said Range spokesman, Superintendent of Police Nawaraj Adhikari. “Our team arrested him for implementation of the court verdict as he has been convicted in a corruption case,” SP Adhikari added. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) had filed a case against Shrestha. He was on the run for 13 years since the fling of case against him. CIAA has charged him of causing a loss of Rs 398 million 900 thousand while releasing loans that time by abusing his authority. Spokesperson Adhikari said that Shrestha would be produced before the court tomorrow for executing the court’s decision against him.
