The process for naming the State and its permanent capital has been brought after about two and half years of the formation of the State government. Minister KC proposed the name of Deukhuri Valley as the permanent capital of State 5 and Lumbini as the name of the State.

The Deukhuri valley covers Rapti and Gadhawa rural municipalities of Dang and the plain area on the bank of the Rapti River lying in Sheetaganga Municipality of Arghakhanchi district.  Presenting the proposal, Minister KC hoped that a consensus would be forged on the name and the permanent capital of State 5, stating these as the most appropriate choice.
