The incident took place when Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) was conducting horizontal drilling to install underground power supply cables. Chief Executive Officer of Kathmndu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited (KUKL), Ashok Kumar Poudel, told RSS that the maintenance of the pipeline was completed after around 20 hours. The maintenance was carried out from Wednesday night. He shared, “The maintenance of the pipeline has completed. Water will be distributed soon after completion of water supply testing.” The Babarmahal area of Kathmandu was waterlogged after a major water supply pipe on the main road burst open.
