LALITPUR : The total number of people infected with the coronavirus in the Lalitpur district has reached 3,262, according to the District Public Health Office. Of them, a total of 1,803 infected people have been discharged and currently, there are 1,430 active cases.
Chief of the Office, Dr Khageshwor Gelal, said that the COVID-19 related death toll reached 29 in Lalitpur district adding that there is a big difference in the statistics provided by the Health Ministry and the District Public Health Office.
In the Lalitpur Metropolitan City, the number of active cases is 879 and there have been 21 fatalities, Spokesperson of the Metropolitan City Raju Maharjan said. Among the active cases, 812 are in home isolation and 67 in hospitals.
Of the total 203 cases in Godavari Municipality, 132 people have been discharged while six have succumbed to the virus.
Likewise, the number of infected people has reached 408 in Mahalaxmi Municipality, with 235 individuals having been discharged while two having succumbed to the virus in the municipality, Information Technology Officer Santosh Pokhrel said. The number of cases in Bagmati, Mahankal and Konjyosom rural municipalities is minimal, officials confirmed.
