BIRATNAGAR : State 1 has recorded nine additional COVID-19 deaths in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll to 112. A total 654 infections in 413 men and 241 women were shown in the swab tests of 1,646 people, said the Ministry of Social Development of the State.
The infected include 326 in the Morang district, with 225 in Biratnagar alone, 209 in Sunsari, 74 in Jhapa, nine in Sankhuwasabha, four in Udayapur and two each in Bhojpur, Terhathum, Ilam and Taplejung. With this, the total number of cases in the Province has reached 12,269.
Three hundred and twenty six people have recovered from the infection in the past 24 hours, taking the number to 5,339 so far, said the ministry, adding that a total 142,523 people have received PCR tests for the virus.
