KATHMANDU : The National Security Council (NSC) is convening its meeting today. The council, chaired by the Prime Minister, is holding its meeting at 4 pm today.
According to a source, the NSC meeting is scheduled to discuss the latest developments related to the security issues of the country.
Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Gyawali, Minister for Finance Bishnu Paudel, Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa and Chief of Army Staff Purna Chandra Thapa are participating in the meeting.
The NSC, a constitutional body chaired by the Prime Minister, makes recommendations to the Government of Nepal, Council of Ministers for the formulation of a policy on overall national interest, security and defence of Nepal, and for the mobilization and control of the Nepal Army.
Defence Minister, Home Minister, Foreign Minister, Finance Minister, Chief Secretary and Army Chief are members of the Council where the Defence Secretary serves as the Member Secretary.
