CHITWAN – Police have arrested seven people involved in stealing motorbikes from different places in the district. A police squad apprehended those involved in stealing and selling motorbikes, acting on a growing number of complaints regarding motorbike thefts.
According to the District Police Office Chitwan, the arrested are Bijaya Chaudhary, 28, a permanent resident of Karaiyamai municipality-5 who is currently residing in Kharahani municipality-9, Rakesh Chaudhary, 19, who is currently residing in Bharatpur metropolis-3 and Mahesh Chaudhary, 24 of Kolhawi municipality-7 in Bara.
Likewise, others involved in the motorcycle thefts were Dinesh Gurung, 26, and Manoj Darai, 25, of Bharatpur metropolis-11. Police have also caught Sameer Chaudhary, 24, and Amrit Chaudhary, 28, of Khairahani municipality-12 who purchased the stolen motorbikes.
The arrests were made based on the investigation into the incidents of motorcycle theft from the Bhatbhateni supermarket, Katahar chowk, Nahar chowk, Powerhouse chowk and Bikram Marga and other areas.
Police said that the police squad seized motorbikes and instruments used in the racket. A legal action will be slapped against them, shared chief of district police in Chitwan, SP Nantiraj Gurung.
