LAMJUNG – One person has died and 11 others have sustained injuries when a Bolero jeep met with an accident in Kisedi rivulet near Dordi rural municipality-4 in the mountainous district of Lamjung.
Moni Gurung, 70, of Pachok died when the jeep (Ga 1 Ja 7127) en route to Dordi-5, Pachok from Sundarbazaar municipality met with an accident on Tuesday. Critically injured, Gurung died while undergoing treatment, said police.
According to the Police Inspector of the District Police Office in Lamjung Om Prakash Pun, the body of Gurung has been taken to theLamjung district community hospital at Besishahar municipality-8 for post-mortem.
Police further shared that four out of 11 passengers are critically injured while seven sustained minor injuries. Among the injured are Nirajan Gurung, 15, Suresh Gurung, 17 and Prakash Gurung, 20, of ward-5 of the same municipality as well as Panchan Bahadur Tamang, 48, of ward-4.
Among the others injured are jeep driver Makhan Singh Gurung, 37, of Dordi-5 in Pachowk, Dukhit Gurung, 35, of the same ward, five-year-old Dipshon Gurung, five-year-old Ashika Gurung, Masina Gurung, 42, Niranjan Gurung, 16, and eight-year-old Nirjala Gurung. The injured are being treated at the community hospital. The jeep had fallen 15 meter off the road into the Kisedi rivulet.
