KATHMANDU – The country has witnessed a total of 127 new cases of coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours. The Ministry of Health and Population said that RT-PCR tests of 4,000 individuals were conducted from different labs across the country.
With this, the coronavirus tally has reached 272,557 in the country. The Ministry said that 1,004 people are in isolation beds and 79 are in quarantines.
Likewise, 136 people got recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours. So far, altogether 268,796 people recovered from the virus infection. The recovery rate of the virus in Nepal is 98.6 per cent.
The Ministry said that the death caused by Covid-19 reached 2054 in Nepal. Now, Kathmandu is the only district having more than 500 reported active cases of the virus while Ilam, Bhojpur, Sankhuwasabha, Solukhumbu, Mustang, Mugu, Rukum West an Achham have no reported cases of the virus.
Of the infected, 62 persons are receiving treatment in ICU and 14 are in ventilators in different hospitals across the country.
