CPN (Maoist Centre) Chair draws official concern towards Bharatpur Metropolis’ development


KATHMANDU – Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has drawn the government’s attention towards the development of Bharatpur Metropolis.

In a debate programme for the development of Bharatpur organised here today by the local government, the former Prime Minister urged the ministers, secretaries and other senior officials present at the programme to allocate budget required to undertake the development projects in the town and cooperate with its development efforts.

It may be noted that the over fifty percent area of the Bharatpur Metropolis lies in the Chitwan 3 from where he had won the latest election to the member of House of Representatives.

Also speaking on the occasion, Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Pampha Bhusal said the Metropolis development model was praiseworthy, promising to provide all necessary support for its further development. On the occasion, the Minister revealed that a three-year project worth five billion rupees to construct embankment on the Narayani River was in the offing.

Finance Minister Janardan Sharma assured that his office was positive for managing budget required to compete the Bharatpur-based important projects including the Cricket Stadium while Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Prem Bahadur Ale announced to implement the tourism leave for the promotion of tourism sector. As he said at the programme, the government is positive for the expansion of Bharatpur Airport. He took time to urge the Finance Minister for the support towards that end.

Minister of State Umesh Shrestha, Bagmati Province Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning Shalik Ram Jamarkattel, secretary at the Finance Ministry Madhukumar Marasini, Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal director general Raj Kumar Chhetri and Irrigation Department’s director general Sushil Chandra Acharya were among those speaking at the programme. On the occasion, Bharatpur mayor Renu Dahal briefed about the development endevours undertaken since she assumed the office.
