गृहपृष्ठ ∕ Politics ∕ Deuba reelected NC President Politics Deuba reelected NC President KathmanduPati December 15, 2021 KATHMANDU – Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has been reelected NC President through the NC 14th General Convention. He has thrashed his closest contender Dr Shekhar Koirala with a wide margin of 878 votes. He has acquired 2,733 votes while Dr Koirala 1,855 votes. Out of the total 4,743 voters, 4,623 votes were cast in the re-election that took place on Tuesday, according to the party central election committee. A total of 35 votes were nullified. The vote count started at 3:30 pm on Tuesday night and concluded at 9 pm the same night. Now, Deuba will lead the party leadership for two consecutive terms. The re-election took place as per the party statute after five presidential candidates failed to get more than 50 percent votes on Monday. According to the party statute, in case of candidates failing to acquire more than 50 percent votes, the top candidates will fight in re-election.
