KATHMANDU – The ruling coalition parties have agreed to hold local level elections within the deadline determined by the constitution and law. CPN (Maoist Centre) leader Dev Prasad Gurung told that the meeting of High-level Political Coordination Committee formed to help the government held at the official residence of the Prime Minister, Baluwatar, today, focused on the election related issues.
Sharing that the leaders participated in the meeting suggested to hold the local-level election on the slated time as per the provision of the constitution and law, Gurung added that the discussion was also held on how to face the challenges of COVID-19. An understanding was reached to hold further discussion by five parties in their parties in this regard and by the top leaders to finalize it within a couple of days, he mentioned.
Similarly, the meeting held discussion on how to make the National Assembly member election scheduled on January 26 a success despite the challenges of COVID-19 infection.
Top leaders of ruling coalition parties-Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Centre), CPN (Unified Socialist), Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal and Rastriya Janamorcha – were present in the meeting coordinated by the Prime Minister and NC President, Sher Bahadur Deuba. The ruling coalition parties have formed a High-Level Coordination Committee under coordination of NC senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel to facilitate the government.
