Honour and monetary assistance to the martyrs’ families are the parts of the celebrations, according to the Province Government. This is the first time that the People’s War Day is to be observed in the Province which has been also celebrating the Magh 5 in the Nepali calendar each year as the ‘Madheshi Sacrifice Day’. Former Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Centre)’s Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ is scheduled to address the commemorative event to be organised by the Madhesi Martyrs’ Academy under the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, according to Ministry secretary Ram Kumar Mahato. On the occasion, 40 martyrs’ families from all eight districts will be felicitated and provided with monetary assistance.
