Though the Business Advisory Committee meeting held earlier today was expected to forge consensus for presenting the proposal in the meeting, it could not happen as the differing voices came from the ruling alliance itself. According to Federal Parliament Secretariat Spokesperson Dr Rojnath Pande, the CPN ( Maoist Centre) and CPN (Unified Socialist) leaders were of the opinion that democracy could derail if confidence from the main opposition was not ensured while deciding on the issue of national importance. The major ruling party had however pressed for introducing the document in the House. Home Minister Balkrishna Khand, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Dilendra Prasad Badu were among those representing the NC in the meeting. It may be noted that the main opposition CPN (UML) remained absent in the meeting.
