गृहपृष्ठ ∕ Politics ∕ Parliamentary Committee starts taking statement of Rana over impeachment Politics Parliamentary Committee starts taking statement of Rana over impeachment KathmanduPati August 31, 2022 KATHMANDU – Suspended Chief Justice Cholendra Shumser JB Rana arrived at the Singha Durbar, Federal Parliament Secretariat to give his statement in regard with the impeachment motion registered against him. The Impeachment Motion Recommendation Committee formed by the Parliament has started taking his statement. The Committee meeting on August 24 decided to summon Rana today for the statement. It may be noted that Rana faces the impeachment motion with 98 House of Representatives (HoR) members registering it against him at the Federal Parliament Secretariat on February 13. Seeking a share in the Cabinet and professional incompetency are among those 21 charges Rana faces in the impeachment. Nepal Bar Association and the NBA, Supreme Court unit earlier submitted a 34-point letter to the Committee to prove the impeachment against him. The letter states bases and reasons for impeaching Rana.
