A meeting of the UML parliamentary party held at the Baneshwor-based Parliament Building today also called for a serious investigation into the gold smuggling scam. “The investigation (into the scam) should not be only limited to the carriers (of the smuggled gold), but be extended to that company behind the scam. Action should be taken against all those involved in the gold smuggling process,” UML leader Raghuji Pant said talking to journalists after the meeting. Nearly 100 kilograms gold passed out of Tribhuvan International Airport’s customs without being detected on the night of July 18. The Department of Revenue Investigation has arrested 10 people in this connection so far. The House of Representatives is meeting today.
