After PM Oli, Madhav Nepal reaches Prachanda’s residence Khumaltar
Prior to meeting with senior leader Nepal, Prachanda held discussions with PM Oli and Bamdev Gautam at his own residence for newry one and a half hours
KATHMANDU – Prime Minister KP SharmaOli has left Khumaltar after meeting Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Executive Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.
At a time when the intra-party dispute has been escalating, Prime Minister and NCP Chairman Oli had reached Prachanda’s residence Khumaltar.
Senior Leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has now arrived at Prachanda’s residence after PM Oli left Khumaltar. Prachanda and Nepal are currently holding discussions.
PM Oli had stayed at Prachanda’s residence for nearly one and a half hours.
According to a party source, Prime Minister Oli had held a one-and-one meeting with Prachanda for nearly 45 minutes. As party co-chairs were holding talks, NCP Vice Chairman Bamdev Gautam had also reached Prachanda’s residence. The three leaders had held a separate meeting for nearly 30 minutes.
The visit of NCP co chair Oli at Prachanda’s residence Khumaltar comes in the wake of growing tension in the ruling party.
The latest meeting, after the government decision to introduce an ordinance recently which further escalated the crisis in the NCP, is being interpreted as a meaningful one.
Though Prachanda and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal-led faction is putting pressure on Oli to give up the post of either Prime Minister or party chairman, Prime Minister Oli has denied quitting any post.
