Kathmandupati – Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has urged Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Executive Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ to withdraw his political report presented in the party’s secretariat meeting.
During a meeting held between party co chairs at Prachanda’s residence Khumaltar on Saturday morning, Prime Minister and NCP Chairman Oli urged him to withdraw the ‘indictment report’ that he had tabled in a recent secretariat meeting.
However, NCP Executive Chairman Prachanda told Prime Minister Oli that the report has already been tabled in the secretariat and cannot be withdrawn, according to Prachanda’s press coordinator Bishnu Sapkota ‘Jugal’. Prachanda told Prime Minister Oli that they can reach a conclusion after having a discussion in the standing committee meeting, Jugal said.
The party co-chairs’ meeting comes on the eve of the party’s standing committee meeting.
After a one-and-one meeting with Prime Minister Oli first and then jointly with Bamdev Gautam, Prachanda also held a meeting with Senior Leader Madhav Kumar Nepal at his residence Khumaltar.
The latest meeting, after the government decision to introduce an ordinance recently which further escalated the crisis in the NCP, is being interpreted as a meaningful one.
Though Prachanda and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal-led faction is putting pressure on Oli to give up the post of either Prime Minister or party chairman, Prime Minister Oli has denied quitting any post
