Prachanda-led NCP launches nationwide protest programs against govt move to dissolve parliament

Central committee meeting of Prachanda-Nepal-led NCP decides to take to streets to protest govt’s decision to dissolve the House of Representatives and set dates for midterm election


KATHMANDU – Nepal Communist Party (NCP) led Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Madhav Kumar Nepal has announced protest programs against the government’s move to dissolve the parliament.

The central committee meeting of the Prachanda-led NCP held at Babarmahal on Thursday decided to launch street protest against the government.

As per the protest programs, all central committee members and parliamentarians of Prachanda-Nepal led camp will stage a demonstration in Maitighar on Friday morning.  The central committee members and parliamentarians will then reach the Election Commission after holding the demonstration at Maitighar.

The party led by Prachanda camp also plans to hold a press meet at 2 pm on Friday.  Similarly, provincial committee meetings will be held on Saturday and district level gatherings in all 76 districts on Sunday, according to a central committee member of the NCP who attended the meeting.  The NCP also plans to stage another demonstration in the capital city Kathmandu as well as all other districts on December 29
