KATHMANDU: Ishwar Pokharel, a secretariat member of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP), has urged the party rank and file to stand in favour of party unity.
Addressing a gathering of party cadres in Sindhuli on Wednesday, NCP leader Pokharel urged cadres to firmly stand in favour of the party unity that benefits the people and the country.
Stating that leaders should learn from splits of communist party in the past, he said that it was not appropriate for leaders to resort to allegations and counter allegations.
“I urged party leaders to review the implementation of past agreements,” he said.
He also claimed that the NCP led by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is the legitimate party.
As there is a system of party general secretary calling the meeting after a consensus of the chairman and making decisions, the party led by Prime Minister Oli is the legitimate and official NCP, he added.
