Election Commission seeks updated details of NCP from both rival factions
Oli and Prachanda-led factions asked to submit updated details of the party in seven days

KATHMANDU – The Election Commission has sent a letter to KP Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal-led factions separately, seeking updated details of their party.
Raj Kumar Shrestha, the Election Commission’s Spokesperson, said that the Commission on Thursday sent letters to both factions asking them to provide updated details of the party within seven working days.
Stating that both factions have registered five letters at the Election Commission, Spokesperson Shrestha said both factions have been asked to come up with updated details of the party in line with the Rule 25 of Political Party Regulations.
Though both factions claim that the party that they led is the legitimate NCP, the Election Commission is looking into the dispute on which faction is the legitimate NCP.
While the NCP formed after a merger between erstwhile CPN (UML) and CPN (Maoist-Center) three years ago has not formally split, both rival factions are running parallel programs and committees.
