KATHMANDU – CPN (Maoist-Center) is preparing to take action against its leaders who have sided with the KP Oli-led faction. According to a party source, CPN (Maoist-Center) is planning to take action against those leaders siding with the Oli-led faction if they do not return to their original party.
The preparation to take action against those leaders supporting the Oli faction follows the recent verdict of the Supreme Court to provide the name NCP to the Rishi Kattel-led party and restore CPN (UML) and CPN (Maoist-Center).
Following the verdict to scrap the merger between the two parties, the Madhav Nepal-led faction that was siding with Prachanda in the aftermath of a vertical split in the ruling party has already decided to return to their old party, CPN (UML). On the other hand, neary half a dozen leaders from the CPN(Maoist-Center) have been siding with Oli following the intra party polarization.
CPN (Maoist-Center) is now preparing to take action against those leaders including Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Lekh Raj Bhatta, Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation Mani Chandra Bhattarai.
Similarly, Minister for Energy Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, Minister for Urban Development Prabhu Shah, Minister for Agriculture Gauri Shankar Chaudhary and Minister for Youth and Sports Dawa Lama Tamang are also going to face the action if they do not return to their old party CPN (Maoist-Center), according to the party source. If the Maoist-Center expels them as general members of the party, they will lose their posts of lawmakers.
