KATHMANDU – CPN (Maoist Center) is holding its central committee meeting today. The central committee meeting going to be held at 11 am at party headquarters Paris Danda is scheduled to discuss the latest political developments in the country.
According to a source, the meeting is also going to take action against the ministers of the CPN (Maoist Center)who have refused to step down in line with the party’s recent instruction.
The party could either suspend them for a certain time or expel them from the party, according to the source.
Earlier on Friday, the standing committee meeting meeting of the party had decided to recall the ministers from the party and seek clarifications from them within 24 hours.
Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’, Minister for Energy Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Lekh Raj Bhatta, Minister for Drinking Water Mani Thapa and Minister for Labour Gauri Shankar Chaudhary are the members in the KP Oli-led cabinet from the CPN (Maoist Center).
Prime Minister and CPN (UML) Chairman Oli had also appointed 23 Maoist leaders as central committee members of the CPN(UML) and assigned them various responsibilities of the party.
CPN (Maoist Center)’s Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha said that the party is preparing to take action against those leaders who are flouting party instruction.
However, those leaders who are members in the Oli-led cabinet have already announced that they would not return to CPN (Maoist Center).
They have also clarified that they would not leave CPN (UML) even if they lose their seats in the parliament after CPN(Maoist Center) expels them as its members.
