Province 1’s Economic Affairs Minister Angbuhang sacked as lawmaker

CPN (Maoist Center) removes Angbuhang as a member of provincial assembly after he defected to CPN (UML) and become a minister

KATHMANDU –  CPN(Maoist Center) has sacked Tanka Angbuhang as a lawmaker of Province 1.

The party today removed him as a member of Province 1’s provincial assembly after he joined the provincial government as a minister.

CPN (Maoist Center)’s parliamentary party leader Indra Bahadur Angbo said that the party will formally notify the Provincial Assembly today about the decision of the party to remove Angbuhang as a lawmaker.

Angbo said that Angbuhang was removed as the lawmaker after he did not furnish clarification sought by CPN (Maoist Center) on Tuesday for his decision to quit the party and join CPN (UML) and the provincial government.

Angbuhang was elected as a provincial assembly member from Taplejung ‘Kha’ from CPN (Maoist Center).

After Angbuhang, who was the parliamentary party leader of the CPN (Maoist Center) in Province 1, defected to CPN (UML), citing that he did not get respect in CPN (Maoist Center), he was appointed as a minister in the provincial government.

Earlier on March 26, Chief Minister Sherdhan Rai had appointed Angbuhang as Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning of Province 1.

With the decision of the CPN (Maoist Center) to remove him as lawmaker, he will not be able to become minister for more than six months.
