CPN Secretariat meeting approves task force

Kathmandu: A meeting of the Secretariat of the ruling Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) has approved the task force formed by Chairman KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda.

Last Friday, the two Chairmen Oli and Prachanda had formed a six-member task force led by General Secretary Bishnu Poudel to resolve disputes within the party.

“The meeting approved the task force,” said Surya Thapa, Press Advisor to the Prime Minister.

“We have taken the task force formed by the two chairmen in a positive light. Today’s meeting has approved the formation of the task force,” CPN spokesperson Narayankaji Shrestha.

He also stated that the members are in favor of moving towards the general convention by resolving disputes within the party. “We will move forward after the suggestion of the task force. That will be discussed. The discussion has been done on how to move ahead on policy and methodology,” said Shrestha.

He also stated no discussion was held on the issue of reshuffling the cabinet and more specifically, the position of the Chief Minister.

Bhim Rawal, Shankar Pokhrel, Surendra Pandey, Janardan Sharma and PamphaBhusal are members of the task force that was convened by General Secretary Bishnu Poudel.
