Province Chief Amik Sherchan, on the recommendation of the province government, prorogued the Assembly session with effect from 12 midnight on April 14. Province Assembly Secretariat’s secretary Hariraj Pokharel said a letter notifying the prorogation of the Province Assembly session has been received from the Office of the Province Chief and it has been registered at the Secretariat at 10.35 am today. The province government’s decision to prorogue the Assembly session has been seen with interest in the political circle as it comes at a time when the opposition parties including the Nepali Congress were preparing to register no-confidence proposal against the province government.
