There is a need to save the House of Representatives (HoR) by giving the trust vote to PM Deuba in the context when the court on July 12 reinstated the dissolved lower house, said the former Prime Minister in a statement today. It may be noted that a section of lawmakers from the UML had filed a writ petition along with Deuba in the Supreme Court, seeking the reinstatement of the HoR. Leader Khanal is currently receiving treatment in India. The government led by Deuba should be allowed to complete remaining tenure of the five-year HoR or the country would plunge into a crisis, reads the statement. Thirty-three lawmakers from the UML including Khanal and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal supported Deuba to the prime ministerial post. He also urged party unification ideologically and politically according to the 10-point agreement struck on July 11. The UML has already institutionally decided to remain in the opposition.
