A problem was indicated by the plane’s indicator within some minutes of take off, said Rinji Sherpa, the Spokesman of the Airport. According to him, it was not an emergency landing by the aircraft, but it was ‘diverted’. “The aircraft that had taken off for Surkhet from Kathmandu was made to return to Kathmandu Airport after flying 30 nautical miles. The aircraft was diverted as its wheel steering locked. Other flights from the Airport are operating regularly now,” he said. Shree Airlines manager Anil Manandhar said that passengers on that plane with technical problem were flown to their destination via an alternative flight.
