गृहपृष्ठ ∕ Nepal ∕ Nepal Police directs DIGs, chiefs not to leave provinces, districts Nepal Nepal Police directs DIGs, chiefs not to leave provinces, districts Senior police officers also restricted from taking leaves except for urgent purpose KathmanduPati December 27, 2020 KATHMANDU – The Nepal Police headquarters has instructed Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs) and district chiefs to not leave their provinces or districts. Following a circular from the Ministry of Home Affairs and taking into consideration the security and law and order situation of the country after the dissolution of the House of Representatives, the police headquarters on Sunday directed DiGs and district police chiefs to not leave their working areas. The police has also restricted them to take leave except for urgent purposes, according to Nepal Police Spokesperson SSP Basant Bahadur Kunwar. Police has beefed up the security in major cities including Kathmandu after the government move to dissolve the House and set dates for midterm election which has triggered street demonstrations across the country. All four security agencies have remained on high alert keeping in view the security threats that these demonstrations and protests could cause.
