Minister Khand, who arrived Gorkha to inaugurate the 16th convention of the Gorkha Chamber of Commerce and Industries in Gorkha district today, viewed that all should be positive about the MCC, since, he explained, it was proposed by the Nepal government. Khand clarified, “MCC is not a military alliance. It is a project proposed by Nepal itself for poverty alleviation, job creations and construction of transmission lines and roads.” The Minister said, “MCC had approved the proposal we presented. Nepal proposed that the agreement for MCC be endorsed through parliament. So, MCC project must be endorsed by parliament now.” A three-member taskforce has been formed by the ruling coalition to reach a conclusion on the MCC agreement.
