गृहपृष्ठ ∕ Nepal ∕ National Women Volleyball Team returns home with historic achievement Nepal National Women Volleyball Team returns home with historic achievement KathmanduPati December 30, 2021 KATHMANDU – Women volleyball players winning the title of Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), Central Zone Senior Women’s Volleyball Championship returned home today. Minister for Youth and Sports, Maheshwor Jung Gahatraj, and Nepal Volleyball Association Chair Manoranjan Raman Sharma among others reached Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) to welcome the team returning home with a historic achievement. The team was welcomed amidst the playing of music. Nepal had won the Championship by defeating Uzbekistan in the final held in Bangladesh of Dhaka on Tuesday. This is the second straight victory of Nepal in the Championship as it bagged the title of 2019 Championship held in Bangladesh by beating the Maldives. The government has announced cash prize of Rs 500 thousand each to 12 players of the team. Likewise, two coaches of the team are to be awarded Rs 300 thousand each. Towards men’s category of AVC, Central Zone, Nepal finished the race in the fourth position. Nepal lost the match for the second-runner up to Uzbekistan. The men’s volleyball team also returned home today itself.
