The epicentre of the temblor was in Bajura district of Sudurpaschim Province. The powerful tremor was also felt in Kailali and Dhangadhi districts, sending people out of their homes in panic. Information Officer at Seismological Centre, Surkhet, Tirtha Raj Dahal, said the earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale occurred with its epicentre at Mela of Bajura district. So far there are no reports on the losses caused by earthquake are awaited.
