The incident took place at 9:00 pm on Saturday night when lightning struck the house of Chitra Bahadur BK in Pakhapani of Dhorpatan Municipality-5. Due to the strike, BK’s six-year-old son Dinesh and nine-year-old daughter Sunita died. Chitra Bahadur’s wife Yam Kumari BK was injured in the incident, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Madan KC. A buffalo at a shed near the house was also killed by the lightning. Yam Kumari is undergoing treatment at the local hospital. Meanwhile, a person died and two others were injured in a road accident that took place at Dhamja in Kathekhola Rural Municipality-3 on Saturday night. According to the police, 18-year-old Bijay BK of Dhamja was killed when a jeep (Dha. 1 Ja. 7190) met with an accident on its way to Dhamja from district headquarters Baglung Bazaar. BK died on the spot. The injured were brought to Baglung headquarters for treatment. The jeep reportedly fell down about 50 meters from the road.
