गृहपृष्ठ ∕ Nepal ∕ Two more Chinese nationals held in connection with gold smuggling Nepal Two more Chinese nationals held in connection with gold smuggling KathmanduPati August 18, 2023 KATHMANDU – Police personnel have nabbed two more Chinese nationals for their alleged involvement in the smuggling of gold. The police deployed from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) arrested the Chinese nationals last night from Kathmandu. Spokesperson of Nepal Police and Inspector General of Police Kuber Kadayat said that investigations against those Chinese nationals are ongoing on their involvement in the gold smuggling. The Nepal Police has not revealed the identity of those arrested Chinese nations. The CIB had also arrested four Chinese nationals on August 16. Cases under smuggling of illegal gold and organised crime would be filed against them, added Kadayet. So far, the number of arrested ones in connection to the gold smuggling has reached 23. The Revenue Investigation Department (RID) had seized a huge quantity of gold smuggled to Nepal from Hong Kong on July 19. The yellow metal was brought by hiding in brake shoe of motorbike.
