Rejisha Gopali, five-year-old daughter of Jeet Bahadur Gopali from Thaha municipality in Makwanpur, allegedly died in want of the treatment in the hospital’s emergency ward few days ago. Terming the incident as a result of sheer negligence of the hospital and its medical team, lawmakers demanded action against the hospital management and medical workforce on duty. CPN (UML) whip Mahesh Bartaula, taking time in the meeting, urged the government to ensure that all children receive unhindered treatment while needed. Dr Chanda Karki of Rastriya Swatantra Party expressed her concern over the news of the demise of a girl in wait for treatment. “This is immensely sad,” she said, demanding the government take steps to improve the physical infrastructure of government-run healthcare facilities and ensure an adequate workforce to prevent such incidents in the future.
