The deceased is police constable Amitesh Mandal of Rupani Municipality-2, Saptari district currently posted at Koshi Katan, said the District Police Office, Sunsari. Police said Mandal shot himself in the head from his pistol when he was alone in the bedroom at night. It is said Mandal committed suicide due to domestic tension. Further investigation is on in this connection, police said. Mandal’s body is kept at the District Hospital, Sunsari for an autopsy examination.
