A meeting of EC held on Wednesday took the decision to provide amounts equal to seven days’ salary of chief commissioner and commissioners. Similarly, secretaries and joint secretaries of the Commission’s province and district offices will donate the amounts equal to their three days’ salary to the quake victims while undersecretaries and section officers to provide the amounts equal to their two day’s salary. Similarly, other employees will provide the amounts equal to their one day’s salary, said the Commission spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Paudel. The donated funds will be distributed through the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund, he said. The 6.4 magnitude earthquake with its epicentre at Ramidanda in Jajarkot district occurred on November 3 killing at least 153 people and injuring hundreds others. More than 26,500 private houses were completely destroyed, and over 35,400 houses partially in the tragedy.
