Sharma, who was arrested on charges of child labor exploitation, was released following an order issued by a bench of District Judge Jagat Bahadur Poudel. The court directed authorities to allow her to remain out of custody while the investigation continues, noting that the Office of the Government Attorney had already decided not to pursue a case against her. Earlier, the Kathmandu Metropolitan City had filed a complaint against Sharma, accusing her of physically assaulting and abusing a minor during an inspection conducted when Prime Minister Balen Shah was serving as the mayor of Kathmandu.
