Kathmandu [Nepal], August 10 – Nepal’s Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle is set to meet executives of multinational companies operating in the country on Monday as the government seeks private-sector input on implementing the fiscal year 2026-27 budget.
The discussion is scheduled to begin at noon at the Ministry of Finance’s Suvarna Hall, will bring together senior executives and domestic partners from 20 major multinational companies that rank among Nepal’s largest taxpayers.
According to the ministry, the meeting will focus on the incentives provided to multinational companies under the new budget challenges faced by investors, measures needed to encourage further investment, expand employment opportunities and facilitate the repatriation of returns. Participants will also be invited to submit their recommendations in writing.
The consultation is part of the government’s broader effort to engage key stakeholders in implementing budget priorities and improving Nepal’s investment climate.
In recent weeks, Wagle has held similar discussions with representatives from 33 industrial enterprises that have made significant contributions to production, employment and the national economy. He has also met chief executive officers of Nepal’s Class A commercial banks and executive directors of the Nepal Rastra Bank.
The Finance Ministry expects the consultations to help identify policy hold-up and strengthen coordination between the government and the private sector to support economic growth and investment.
