Summoning the security forces’ chiefs at his residence in Baluwatar today, the Prime Minister held a discussion and received a security briefing from them. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Shailesh Thapa Chhetri, Chief of the Army Staff (CoAS) Purna Chandra Thapa, Inspector General of Armed Police Force Shailendra Khanal and National Investigation Department’s Head Ganesh Raj Adhikari were present at the meeting that discussed the latest security situation of the country, according to a Baluwatar source. The meeting of the Prime Minister with the chiefs of security forces comes in the wake of growing internal rifts in the ruling Nepal Communist Party, as well as the latest speculations about Prime Minister Oli’s proposal to the main opposition party Nepali Congress to forge a new coalition.
