The oxygen plant was installed in the hospital last week. With the oxygen production beginning in the public healthcare facility in the district, hassle relating to procurement of bottled oxygen cylinders from elsewhere has come to an end, said information officer in the Hospital, Bijaya Rai. Stating that many patients had lost their lives in lack of oxygen, the production of oxygen in the district hospital here has elated the hospital staffers as well as and the patients. They are hopeful that supply of oxygen in other health facilities would be easier, shared Rai. The newly set up plant produces 20 large oxygen cylinders in a day. A contract was made to install the oxygen plant at over Rs 7.1 million, informed officiating medical superintendent Dr Soning Lama.
