Over 2,000 Nepal Police personnel infected with coronavirus  


Kathmandu- More than 2,000 security personnel from the Nepal Police have contracted COVID-19.  According to the Police Headquarters at Naxal, Kathmandu, among the total 2,161 police personnel, 950 have recovered and returned to their homes.    

Police Spokesperson SSP Kuber Kadayat stated that Kathmandu Valley has recorded the highest number of COVID-19 cases among security personnel. A total of 624 cases have been recorded in the three districts of the Valley. Among them, 558 are undergoing treatment.    

The Police Headquarters alone has witnessed 389 cases. Among them, 318 have been fully recovered while 71 are still undergoing treatment at isolation facilities.    

Likewise, State No 1 has reported 340 cases among the security personnel while State No 2 saw 257 cases. Similarly, there are 100 cases in the state of Bagmati, 143 in Gandaki, 198 in State 5, 71 in Karnali and 39 in Sudurpaschim.    

According to Kadayat, those who have fully recovered from COVID-19 have already returned to their duties, while those still undergoing treatment are in stable conditions.
