According to Director and Spokesperson of Department of Passports, Drupada Sapkota, the foreign team assigned with the responsibility of dealing with all technical system in the issuance of e-passport is expected to arrive by Monday. Nepal launched the distribution of e-passport on December 1, 2021. Now the passport server grapples with the storage issue and it is taking more time to accept photo and finger print of passport seeker. The Department is itself trying to sort out the issue and some improvements have been possible. Following the technical disturbance in issuing the e-passport, passport applicants have been urged to visit the Department once they receive a text/ message in their mobile phone.
