गृहपृष्ठ ∕ Nepal ∕ PM Dahal expresses sorrow over passing away of NRB first governor Rana Nepal PM Dahal expresses sorrow over passing away of NRB first governor Rana KathmanduPati February 05, 2023 KATHMANDU – Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal ‘Prachanda’ has extended deep sorrow over the passing away of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB)’s first governor Himalaya Shumsher Rana and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. “I pay tributes to the sad demise of the first government of Nepal Rastra Bank, Himalaya Shumser Rana and offer condolences to the entire bereaved family and his well-wishers,” the Prime Minister writes on a social site. He said he highly acknowledged the contribution of Rana to the cause of the nation. NRB founding government and former Finance Secretary Rana succumbed to pneumonia today amidst the treatment at local Thapalai-based Norvic International Hospital. He was 95.
