KATHMANDU – Six police personnel who rescued a pilot alive from air crash site on July 24 have been awarded.
According to Nepal Police’s Spokesperson DIG Dan Bahadur Karki, the Police Headquarters awarded them for taking a risk and rescuing pilot Manish Ratna Shakya alive from such a dangerous situation.
The awarded police personnel were DSP Sukdev Khanal and Tanka Raut, and police constables Shree Ram Pariyar, Karan Singh Chaisir, Bhim Prasad Gautam and Krishna Joshi, shared Spokesperson Karki.
It may be noted that a Pokhara-bound plane belonging to Saurya Airlines, crashed at Tribhuvan International Airport shortly after takeoff on July 24 morning.
Of the 19 passengers on board, mostly Saurya Airlines’ staffers and technicians, 18 people died in the fateful incident while the pilot was rescued. The injured pilot was rescued and rushed to the nearest health facility by the police personnel.
