UK’s Rushmoor Borough Council provides PPEs to Gorkha


KATHMANDU – Rushmoor Borough Council, UK has provided PPEs to the Gorkha district of Nepal in its fight against COVID-19 pandemic.

The Council, which established sister city relations with the Gorkha Municipality last year, has supported PPEs worth more than Rs 7 million, Rushmoor Borough Councilor Jeev Belbase said.

The PPEs provided include face masks, gloves, aprons, protective shoes and health safety goods for use by medical staff, employees assigned on essential services and volunteers, another Councilor Nem Thapa, shared.

Chief of Rushmoor Borough, Bruce Thomas handed over the medical assistance to Mayor of Gorkha municipality, Rajan Raj Panta amidst a programme held on Thursday. The assistance was managed at Councilor Belbase’s main initiation.

At the virtual programme, Mayor Panta said the medical goods provided by the Council would be distributed in all the local units of the Gorkha district as per the need.
