KATHMANDU – Vice-Chairperson of the CPN (UML), Subhas Chandra Nembang, has demanded the government to hold the local-level elections on the slated time.
At the first joint convention of various chapters of Press Chautari organised here today, Vice-Chair Nembang blamed that the ruling coalition has been trying to postpone the local polls.
He further said that there was no alternative to go for three-tier of elections. Similarly, Chairperson of CPN (UML) Bagmati Province, Keshav Pandey, shared that journalists should work as per the people’s expectation based on fact and truth. On the occasion, Chitwan chapter of Bagmati Province of Press Chautari, was awarded as the best chapter.
Former Chairperson of Press Chautari, Gagan Bista, senior vice-president Madhav Nepal, vice-presidents—Tika Bista and Ganesh Pandey, general-secretary Rajesh Rai, valley in-charge Prakash Silwal, among others said that Press Chautari would be active in ideological, professional and organizational field after the convention. The convention would elect a new leadership today itself.
