KATHMANDU – Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has expressed commitment that he would extend full support to the initiatives for addressing aspiration and expectation of Gorkha people.
“My attention is drawn towards mega development projects in Gorkha,” PM Dahal said, while releasing a book penned by Bhuwan Prasad Shrestha. Shrestha is an old leader of communist movement.
PM Dahal recollected the mega projects as Budhigandaki Hydropower Project, Beni-Arughat-Larke roadway, and development potentials in agriculture, tourism and herbs.
“Arughat of Gorkha is still fresh in my memory. I used to extend support for its development in the past as well. Now, as a people’s representative from this area, I’ve increased responsibility,” PM Dahal shared. Dahal had taught in the Bhimodaya Secondary School of Arughat, Gorkha 40 years back.
PM Dahal also reminded on the occasion that he had got huge support in the parliament with 268 trust votes out of 270 lawmakers in the House of Representatives. He viewed it was a reflection of national consensus. “It is a matter of pride, responsibility and challenges too,” he argued. Dahal called this incident unprecedented.
Commenting on the book, he felt proud to release the book on Bhuwan Dai. “It has made me nostalgic. I’m remembering those days of youths,” PM Dahal observed.
The moment he spent with Shrestha is unforgettable. PM Dahal remembered Shrestha as a cultured and honest person.
