The cabinet meeting held on Monday evening decided to pick Foreign Minister Gyawali as the government’s spokesperson. The post of the government spokesperson had remained vacant after the then Spokesperson Yuba Raj Khatiwada had stepped down as Finance and Communication and Information Technology Minister last week. In addition to communicating the government’s official position and information, the government spokesperson holds regular briefings to the media to publicize the cabinet’s decisions.
